About Me

Nathan Drake, originally from Arizona, is a Washington, D.C. based artist and educator.  He received his BA in Media Arts and Animation from The Art Institute of Phoenix.  In 2016, he graduated from George Mason University earning a MAT Master of Arts in Teaching degree.  Nathan is licensed and endorsed in Visual Arts K-12 for the state of Virginia.  He currently teaches elementary art for Fairfax County Public Schools. 

As a practicing artist, Nathan enjoys working in a variety of media with a main concentration in ceramics. 
His work has been shown in shows around the DMV and in the yearly FCPS Artist Teacher Juried Exhibitions. 

I provide my students with knowledge and opportunities to grow creatively.  I learn from my students just as they learn from me.  I myself will continue to grow and adapt each day in the classroom.  As a teacher I am a work of art, ever evolving and changing.

The visual arts are essential for future generations to be capable creative thinkers and problem solvers.  In teaching the visual arts, I am asking my students to look at the world around them from a different point of view.
